Oceanside Private Practice is a mixed BULK BILLING & PRIVATE BILLING practice. The list of standard fees are displayed in our practice.  For patiens who are bulk billed, there may be some items/services that are not covered by medicare and these will be privately billed. Please contact the reception on 4332 6066 for advise on these cost. Our practice bulkbills all patients for the following services:

Health assessments, mental health plans, mental health consults,  care plans & reviews, ecg, spirometry, asthma & diabetic assessment, cvc, venesection, iron infusions, biopses & skin procedures, implanon insertion & removal, removal of foreign bodies, urine pregnancy tests.

Our practice will accept cash and most credit card payments. Our software allows for on the spot processing through Medicare and if you have provided Medicare with your bank details, the rebate will be back in your bank account within 24 hours. Patients who claim workers compensation will need to provide details of their employer, employers address, insurance company name and claim number. Please note that these accounts are still the responsibility of the patient until paid.  If a workers compensation account remains unpaid, settlement of the account will be required from the patient.

Home visits

Our practice makes home visits to regular practice patients in aged or residential care facilities, within and outside of normal working hours where it is safe, reasonable and clinically appropriate.

Repeat prescriptions

Our practice would prefer to see you for repeat prescriptions and this can be facilitated by the reception staff so that you will not be kept waiting for your appointment and the brief consultation will be bulk billed. If you are unable to attend the surgery, in the case of disability or illness where attending the surgery is difficult but need a routine repeat, a prescription with no repeats may be faxed to your chemist. If your treatment needs reviewing your doctor may ask you to make an appointment. If your prescription needs an authority you will need to come in to be seen before the prescription can be issued.

Availability of Doctors by telephone

Oceanside Private Practice doctors may be contacted by telephoning the surgery during surgery opening times. If your call is urgent, please inform the reception staff, who will ask you some questions so that your call may be prioritised. Generally a message will be taken and your call returned  when time permits.

Results

Generally you should return to see the doctor for results of investigations and our practice will certainly ring you if there are abnormal results and you may be rung by the receptionist prior to your return appointment if there is an urgent abnormality. The practice also utilises our software to provide a reminder system for routine checks such as health assessements. Please advise us if you do not want to be part of this reminder system.

Interpreter service

An interpreter service is available for patients who speak languages other than English and if you feel you are unable to communicate clearly with our reception staff or doctors, this service is available for your use and can be accessed online at https://www.tisnational.gov.au/ or by calling 13 14 59.

Medical records

If you wish to obtain a copy of your medical records, or restrict access to your personal health information, please advise your doctor during consultation. There is a fee for providing copies of your full medical records but a Health Summary can be provided free of charge. Please speak to our receptionists and they will be able to advise you.

Patient feedback and complaints

Our practice always welcomes  comments or suggestions about our services, so please don't hesitate to give us feedback, it helps us know where we can improve.
